Texas AG: Obamacare individual mandate ‘unconstitutional’

Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton says Obamacare as it now stands—gutted of the requirement that Americans purchase health insurance or pay a penalty—is unconstitutional because its individual mandate no longer raises tax revenue and instead simply forces Americans to purchase health insurance. “The Commerce Clause gives Congress the authority to regulate commerce, not to compel it. But [Chief Justice John Roberts] rescued the individual mandate by viewing it as a tax. Its saving grace was that it raised revenue for the federal government,” writes Paxton. “But that reasoning crumbled when Congress repealed the penalty. Con...

American Majority Opposes Taxpayer-Funded Insurance for Illegal Immigrants

Last week, many Democratic candidates during the debates said they want illegal immigrants covered under a taxpayer-funded single-payer healthcare plan. Unfortunately for those candidates, Americans don’t want that to happen. Even in a CNN poll, we find that 60% of Americans do not want this. Daily caller has the poll: Nearly 60% of Americans oppose making government-provided health insurance available to illegal immigrants, according to a CNN poll released Monday. “Do you think health insurance coverage provided by the government should or should not be available to undocumented immigrants living in the United States?” reads a question ...

“Free” Always Comes With Strings Attached

Bernie Sanders’ delusions run deep. He argued that Americans would be "delighted to pay more in taxes" if his policies are carried out. Fox News has the details on Sanders’ CNN appearance: "Look, what we have to understand, for example... the United States is the only major country on Earth not to guarantee health care to all people as a right," Sanders explained. "In many countries in Europe, Germany for one, you go to college and the cost of college is zero. I think in Finland they actually pay you to go to college. In most countries around the world the level of income and wealth inequality, which in the United States today is worse than at ...

California: Reward Illegal Immigrants, Punish Taxpayers

Once again, California puts the interest of illegal immigrants over its own citizens. The state will become the first state in the country to pay for illegal immigrants to have full health benefits. California’s Medicaid, “Medi-Cal,” will pay for tens of thousands of illegal immigrants with costs estimated to be about $98 million per year. How are they going to pay for it? For part of it, the state will implement an individual-mandate penalty fee (very similar to ObamaCare) for people who don’t have health insurance. For the rest, taxpayers will be responsible for the hefty bill. Will that be enough? Fox News reports: Under an agreement ...

If Social Security Becomes Insolvent, What Does That Mean for Medicare-for-All?

According to a new report, Social Security will be insolvent and unable to pay the full value of promised benefits to recipients by 2035 and it will exceed its income by 2020.  About 67 million people are currently recipients; however, if nothing changes, the program will have to impose cuts of 20 percent to all beneficiaries. For many who rely solely on Social Security, that’s significant. Even Medicare will be unable to cover the full cost of benefits for those who qualify. Meanwhile, 2020 contenders like Bernie Sanders are proposing Medicare-for-All to be the savior of healthcare.  What Bernie Sanders doesn’t understand is his pipe dream ...

Kamala Harris Wants to Eliminate Private Health Insurance

Do you like your healthcare plan? Too bad, according to 2020 hopeful Kamala Harris. After Harris threw her hat into the ring for 2020, she announced one of her top agenda items would be to toss out all private health care insurance for nearly 150 million Americans. The “Medicare for All” plan, advocated by Democratic Socialists Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, is being embraced by some of the most radical Democrats in American history. "Who among us has not had that situation?" Harris said during a Townhall interview. "Where you got to wait for approval, and the doctor says, 'Well I don't know if your insurance company is going ...
