President Trump’s Stellar Record on Immigration Will be a Key Issue in 2020

The debate over immigration policy shines a spotlight on the different views of Republicans and Democrats. On one side, President Trump supports enforcing our laws and ending illegal immigration, while most Democrats want open borders and amnesty. Recently, Former Immigrations and Customs Enforcement Director, Tom Homan, talked about the contrast between Republicans and Democrats: “Appearing on "Fox & Friends: First" with hosts Todd Piro and Jillian Mele, Homan said that liberal agendas would mean the "collapse" of the entire immigration system. "I mean, they want open borders. They want to abolish ICE. They want to end ICE detention. ...

Tea Party Patriots: Republicans Should Vote No on H.R. 5038

Washington, DC – Jenny Beth Martin, Honorary Chairman of Tea Party Patriots Action, issued the following statement in advance of the expected vote on H.R. 5038, the “Farm Workforce Modernization Act of 2019”: “When H.R. 5038 comes to the floor this week, House Republicans should vote no. Not only would this legislation offer a backdoor to amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants, it would incentivize more people to break our immigration and labor laws. However well-intentioned some may be, illegal workers are engaging in a variety of crimes, including working without a proper visa, falsifying documents, violating our labor laws, tax ...

The Problem With Sanctuary Cities

Violating federal immigration law is a crime, but if you go to a sanctuary city, you wouldn’t know it. Sanctuary cities act as safe-spaces for those who choose to enter our country illegally, because the leaders of these cities have chosen not to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). There isn’t a legitimate reason for doing this, other than for political gain, yet city leaders push forward allowing for the overt violation of federal law. So, not shockingly, in these cities where the violation of federal law is accepted with open arms, federal immigration data reveals there is a high rate of illegal crime and a high rate of ...

A Tragic Reminder

Tragedy struck Monday morning, when nine American women and children were gunned down by drug cartels in Mexico. The women and children were said to have left their border community at the same time in three separate cars, when they were, reportedly, ambushed by the cartel members. Some were traveling back to the US, while others were traveling to a neighboring town for a wedding. Relatives say they believe it was a case of mistaken identity, and that they were not the true targets. However, the family allegedly has a history of run-ins with the cartel, and had “run afoul of the drug traffickers over the years.” According to Mexican officials, the ...

Sanctuary Cities’ Cooperation Could Prevent A Lot of Crime

Recently, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Acting Director Ken Cuccinelli revealed that there are 22 million illegal immigrants here in the U.S., nearly twice the estimate regularly cited. Sanctuary cities shield illegal immigrants, especially dangerous ones, from being deported. The most dangerous criminals are given protection while the communities are left vulnerable. Sanctuary cities are unwilling to help U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, but former acting ICE Director Tom Homan says that the violent crimes committed by illegal immigrants would be prevented if sanctuary cities cooperated. Fox News has the details: The PEW ...

Sanctuary Cities Protect Illegal Immigrants, Not Their Communities

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is setting an incredible example of government transparency that other U.S. Departments and bureaucratic agencies should follow. ICE just released a list of illegal immigrants who were incarcerated in sanctuary cities for crimes other than crossing the border, and now are about to be released into the United States. Sanctuary laws protect dangerous illegal immigrants and mandate that local law enforcement refuse to cooperate with ICE, a federal agency. The Daily Signal goes into detail regarding the types of people being released into American communities: “There is an inherent increase in risk to ...

Tea Party Patriots Action Congratulates Ken Cuccinelli

Atlanta, GA -- Tea Party Patriots Action Honorary Chairman Jenny Beth Martin responds to the appointment of former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli as Acting Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services: “Tea Party Patriots Action strongly supports President Trump’s decision to appoint former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli as the new acting director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Particularly at a time when our southern border is in crisis, General Cuccinelli will work to secure our borders and apply the rule of law. We applaud President Trump for appointing such a strong leader for this vital role, and ...

California: Reward Illegal Immigrants, Punish Taxpayers

Once again, California puts the interest of illegal immigrants over its own citizens. The state will become the first state in the country to pay for illegal immigrants to have full health benefits. California’s Medicaid, “Medi-Cal,” will pay for tens of thousands of illegal immigrants with costs estimated to be about $98 million per year. How are they going to pay for it? For part of it, the state will implement an individual-mandate penalty fee (very similar to ObamaCare) for people who don’t have health insurance. For the rest, taxpayers will be responsible for the hefty bill. Will that be enough? Fox News reports: Under an agreement ...

TSA Bends the Rules for Illegal Immigrants

Elevating the border crisis to new levels, this week it was revealed that the TSA is allowing illegal immigrants to fly without documentation. After being released from Border Control custody, migrants are typically dropped off at nearby bus stations or hotels, with orders to return for their amnesty hearings. Border crossings and subsequent mass releases by Homeland Security agencies are not slowing down, meaning more and more undocumented individuals may be given access to airplanes, a potentially massive security risk. Washington Examiner reports: For the past six months, the Transportation Security Administration has allowed migrants released ...
